Hillsborough County's Confederate Memorial Park

10418 East Hwy. 92;   Tampa, Florida 33610

The Memorial Park upon which the flagpole rests is actually on the north side of US Hwy 92 and abuts Interstate 75 on its west side.  This location is approximately 600 yards south of Interstate 4.

Located in Hillsborough County, approximately at the junction of I-4 and I-75, the flag can be seen from both interstates.

VISIBILITY:

I-75 traveling north:

The very best and longest visibility is seen traveling north on I-75 as the flag is clearly seen one mile south while traveling north while approaching the flag.

 I-75 traveling south:

There is a long sweeping right hand turn on Interstate 75 while approaching the crossover of Interstate 4.  On this sweeping turn the flag is not visible. But when traveling south on Interstate 75 upon passing over Interstate 4 the flag comes into a commanding view.  This is the route all take traveling south on Interstate 75 to access the Cross Town Expressway in order to easily enter the downtown.

I-4 traveling west:

Although the flag can be seen against the Tampa skyline one mile east of the junction of the interstates from the Hwy 579 overpass, the flag is not visible until 300 yards before passing under Interstate 75.  On this route, one has to but glance to his left for the flag to be clearly visible.

 I-4 traveling east:

Because of the intervening tree line the flag is not visible.
